Adrian Weeks - E C M WalesThe current E C M for O U S A in Wales is Adrian Weeks
"Thank you for electing me for another term, this year is going to be an exciting one now that O U S A Futures have started. With the introduction of Groups and Networks, with the branch system and nearly all of the red tape done away with, hopefully it will be easier to start up these Groups and Networks. These Groups and Networks can be interest based or they can be Cross County or even cross border, if you need any more information please do get in touch with me."

OUSA in Wales Forum is a group of students who volunteer their time to meet and discuss issues affecting students in the region. We consist of officers and representatives of branches in the region, as well as a member of the Executive Committee. This meets approximately 6 times a year, either in Cardiff or Llandrindod Wells and is made up of representatives from each of the 11 Branches, a Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications Officer, and other Posts for example: Student Support Link (SSL), Disabled Student Link (DSL) and Student Academic Links(SAL’s). This is a forum that supports the Branches in their role of supporting students, and can aid in the changes of Policies pertaining to students and the student experience.

The Current Forum Officers:
Chair: Susan Goodyear
Vice - Chair: Mal Morris
Secretary: Vacant
Treasurer: Christine Smith

Communications Officer: Mal Morris

Branches
O U S A has branches at a local level. Not all branches meet in person and not all are active at a formal level within O U S A. But all branches do have a forum on First Class where you can meet other students online. See the link in the menu bar for more information about First Class. Where newsletters are linked these are in Word format and some personal contact details may have been removed. Where websites are linked these are managed by either past or current students so are not under the direct control of O U S A. The Open University Students Association is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.

If your branch is currently inactive, and you wish to do something about that (especially if you have somewhere a meeting can be held) please contact the E C M for Wales

Cardiff
Hello and welcome to the Cardiff Branch! We have regular social meetings on the last Thursday of every month. However we have yet to determine a regular venue (opting to keep this flexable so that individual needs of students can be accomodated) therefore its best for anyone wishing to attend to contact me and I can forward details. By keeping the venue flexable we are also able to arrange a more varied calendar of activities from Bowling to Fireworks displays! We would also be happy to see the branch first class conference used for social interaction as well.
From time to time we do have business meetings to discuss how the branch is run as well as other Open University Students Association business. These meetings are usually held online (using First Class) and Face to Face (at the Open University centre in Cardiff). If you would like to participate in these meetings I would ask you contact the branch secretary so that the branch can ensure that you are able to participate fully. The branch does not want to restrict particpation to these two methods so we will be happy to consider other methods such as teleconferencing, please feel free to contact the branch so we can discuss the method that best suits your participation.
Iain Scott - Secretary.
